The culinary competition for high school students was held at Ural State University of Economics. The contest of desserts "Gift to Mom" was dedicated to the International Women's Day.

Ural State University of Economics once again showed its worth at sports competitions. This time, Christina Votchal, a student of ME-15 group, master of sports in speed skating, got on the top tier.

Today, Ural State University of Economics hosted the opening of sculpture "Russia". The statue represents our country as a strong young woman. It organically combines decisiveness to fight for Fatherland and at the same a female principle. The sculpture was donated to the University by its graduate, Sima Land CEO Denis Veshkurtsev.

The students of Ural State University of Economics celebrated Chinese New Year and made a traditional dish of the holiday – pelmeni (dumplings). The students say that it is not only tasty and satisfying dish but also a symbol of a rich, cheerful and healthy life - both in summer and in winter.

For the first time, the USUE climbing team won in the Universiade of the Sverdlovsk region. Athletes from nine universities competed for places on the pedestal.

March 2, 2018, the Historical Museum of Polevskoy launched Bazhovsky Marathon dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Polevskoy and the 140th anniversary of P. Bazhov’s birth. The marathon opened with a panel discussion "P. Bazhov’s Literary and Philosophical Heritage in the Development of Territories: Culture, Education, and Tourism."

UNIVISION-2018, a show and musical interuniversity competition, has chosen a new winner. The festival of talented youth was held in the Recreation Center of Ural State University of Economics. Applications for participation were submitted by more than 50 participants from 11 universities of Yekaterinburg.

Within past few years, Ural State University of Economics and the Ural Customs Administration have been implementing joint events (roundtables, research seminars, study tours), which make it possible to realize successful interaction between universities and executive authorities in training high-skilled personnel for enterprises, organizations and executive bodies of Sverdlovsk region in the sphere of foreign economic activity, customs regulation and procedures.

March 1, the graduation ceremony for USUE bachelors was held. 270 extra-mural students received documents, confirming their professional level.

March 1, USUE students took part in the action "Students support the election of the Russian president" and met with a member of the Election Commission of the Sverdlovsk region. The conversation between young voters and the organizers of the event was devoted to the hot issue "Why should we participate in elections?"

Today, Ural State University of Economics hosted the conference "Yekaterinburg. Work without Borders" which gathered more than 150 representatives of employers. The participants discussed issues related to creating an accessible environment and employment opportunities for disabled people.

The roundtable held at USUE discussed some issues of housing and communal services. One of the main topics was "Actual problems of housing and communal services digitalization." Representatives of business, non-governmental organizations and academic circles of Yekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk region took part in the discussion.

Today, Ural State University of Economics hosted a discussion of the prospective and current action plan proposed by Ural Logistics Association and the USUE Department of Logistics.

A student Maria Ufa won the competition for the best report in the section "Modern Linguistic Studies. Translation Issues”. The girl delivered a report on the topic "On Peculiarities of International Business Correspondence at the Present Stage", supervised by Svetlana Ivanova, associate professor at the USUE Department of Foreign Languages .

From February 19 to 25, Oksana Trotsenko, chair of the USUE Department of Entrepreneurial Law and a member of the Association of Lawyers of Russia, delivered a course of lectures on international practices of public-private partnership.

USUE hosted a city conference with the participation of school principals and teachers, as well as members of the district high school seniors’ bodies. The participants discussed the emergence of subcultures in youth environment. Within the framework of the roundtable, school teachers were able to exchange their educational and morale –building experience.

Ural State University of Economics hosted the second round of the All-Russia Olympiad among university students on the Glavbukh accounting reference system. Three USUE students took part in the competition.

A scientific and practical conference for students was held at Ural State University of Economics to discuss "Standardization, certification and metrological support as tools for supporting innovations".

In February, the USUE badminton team took part in the annual Russian Badminton Championship among students.

February 25, in the sports complex of Ural State University of Economics, the open Sambo championship of the Leninsky district was held among high school students. The event was dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day.

February 21, an international roundtable "Youth diplomacy of Russia and Tajikistan: education, history and culture" was held.

February 20, representatives of employers, professional communities, trade unions, and educational institutions discussed the requirements for a new professional standard and the necessary knowledge and skills for the performance of the labor function of a specialist in the field of competition law.

In Samara, III All-Russia meeting of student search groups "Soldier’s Destiny" was held. More than 150 young searchers and commanders of student search teams from 80 secondary special and higher educational institutions of Russia took part in the event. A delegation from the Sverdlovsk region included three search groups from Yekaterinburg: "Honor and Memory" (USUE), "Styx" (USPU), and "P.S.-Vozrozhdenie" (USAU).

The organizers of this event were the Ministry of Agriculture of the Sverdlovsk region, the Administration of the Kamensk-Uralsky, the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Ural State University of Economics.

The food production facility of Ural State University of Economics has improved the quality of its bakery products. Now pies, desserts, and other sweeties will become even more delicious thanks to a new flour sifter.
