Ural State University of Economics entered "Yandex" rating of universities popularity and ranked 52 out of 264 places. In addition, USUE was for the first time mentioned in the National University Rankings published by Interfax. Here the University was on 220-221 positions.
In the Interfax National Rating of Universities, the activities of Russian universities are evaluated according to six parameters: education, research, social environment (socialization), international activity (internationalization), innovation and entrepreneurship, and brand. The consolidated estimate is normalized to the maximum value and estimated by a 1000-point scale. All data about the popularity of universities are obtained from "Yandex" search for the period from June 2016 to May 2017. Each university was evaluated by the results of scientific research in education and international activities.
"We took all the universities of the National Rating, compiled by Interfax, and made our own - according to the number of search requests to Yandex. It reflects precisely the popularity of a university and not its achievements, and so can significantly differ from other educational institutions ratings," the company's research page says.
Yandex analysts found out which universities are most often searched for by users. The rating of search popularity included 264 universities of the country from the list published by Interfax in early summer. In general, Yekaterinburg universities are popular in Russia: they account for about 3% of all search queries of Russian universities. Most of all it is interesting for residents of the region - future students from Pervouralsk, Nizhny Tagil, and Kamensk-Uralsky.
As a rule, people usually search for general information about higher education institutions; the words "official site", "timetable", "faculty", "department", "list" are most often found in queries.
Let us remind that according to the newspaper Kommersant, Ural State University of Economics entered the rating of the best universities in Russia in terms of graduates' salaries in the field of economics and finance. The leader of the rating, compiled by the SuperJob portal, was the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Service under the President of the Russian Federation (RANEPA).
In addition, the journal Delovoy Kvartal (Business Quarter) shows the results of the annual survey of universities, which graduates are the most expensive specialists on the Yekaterinburg labor market. Although the market is monopolized, this time there have been changes in the rating. The leader of the rating was Ural State University of Economics, which occupies this position for the third year running.
