Укрепляется сотрудничество Свердловской области и Республики Беларусь

July 12, within the third meeting of the Council of Business Cooperation with the Republic of Belarus there was a meeting of acting Governor of the Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev with the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko. The meeting was attended by members of the Government of the Sverdlovsk region, and the USUE Rector Yakov Silin.

"This year we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Union of Russia and Belarus. According to the leaders of our states, this date bears evidence of a common vector of development, a mutual desire for integration and deep interaction in the social, economic, humanitarian and other spheres. I am pleased to note that the Sverdlovsk region takes an active part in these processes," Yevgeny Kuyvashev said.

He stressed that the established communication platform, the Council for Business Cooperation, allows to carry on an open professional conversation, to look for ways and mechanisms for the optimal solution of problems, and to outline new joint projects. One of them is a project in the transport sector.

"We have mastered a new type of transport - electric buses. This is completely our development, our know-how, and these buses are already running on the city routes of Minsk. From one final stop to the other at a distance of up to 15 kilometers, this technique can run without recharging. This electric bus moves "without noise and dust" with energy savings of up to 30 percent. Here we can be mutually beneficial and useful. We invite our colleagues to come to Minsk to personally assess the possibilities of this technology," Vladimir Semashko said.

The Sverdlovsk region will continue to work with Belarusian enterprises to update and develop the vehicle fleet of public transport in the municipalities of the Middle Urals. Yevgeny Kuyvashev and Vladimir Semashko discussed the possibility of supplying Belarusian electric buses for Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Tagil. Much is to be done also in the sphere of education and culture. Joint educational projects, training in agriculture, energy and other areas will allow to exchange experience and make a great contribution to the professional development of specialists.

USUE interacts with a number of countries, including Belarus. An agreement has been signed with the educational institutions of Belarus. Within the framework of the project "Hour of Diplomat”, students visited a meeting with officials of the Yekaterinburg branch of Embassy of Belarus in Russia. Rector Yakov Silin visited Minsk with the delegation of the Sverdlovsk region headed by the first Vice-Governor of the region Aleksey Orlov in late winter 2017. Our cooperation will be further strengthened.
