Национальные диаспоры приграничных территорий: мы должны понимать друг друга и вместе строить будущее

September 15, Chelyabinsk presented a new handbook "National Diasporas of the Southern Urals and the Border Areas." Representatives of national diasporas, ethnic and cultural associations, social activists of Russia and Kazakhstan discussed the vectors of integration in border areas of the Urals.

At the presentation of the handbook and press conference, there were experts of the Assembly of the peoples of the Southern Urals, the municipal Center of National Unity, the Center for Social and Cultural Adaptation of Foreign Students, and other public organizations, as well as experts, economists and political scientists. Together they discussed how to strengthen good neighborly relations in border areas, what should be done to make every nation - big or small - feel comfortable in the hospitable land of the Southern Urals.

President of the "Eurasian Commonwealth" foundation Victor Katochkov noted that the basic idea of the proposed project on the compilation and publication of the handbook "National Diasporas of the Southern Urals and the Border Areas" is the realization of an important social and cultural mission. "In Chelyabinsk, there are 37 national-cultural associations. However, their activities in the cultural life of the Southern Urals are unknown to the general public and young people. Our handbook is a whole world of interesting stories about the representatives of numerous family of the fraternal peoples of Chelyabinsk," he said.

Chairman of the council of the Assembly of Peoples living in the Chelyabinsk region Vladimir Sadyrin appreciated the initiative of preparing the handbook, "It is very important to the process of adaptation to the values and traditions of the region of residence, the formation of friendship and cooperation among peoples, creating a living environment of different nationalities, education, and formation of young people in a multinational state ". One of the directions of such activities can be an organizational project for the preparation of an information book of national-cultural associations of the region with its wide dissemination.

In his speech, the deputy head of the foreign economic activity department at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Chelyabinsk Region Dmitry Glukharev noted that the main purpose of the regional national policy of the region is to create conditions for full social and cultural development of all peoples and the consolidation of Russia-wide civic and spiritual and moral community based on respect for the rights and freedoms a person and recognition him as the supreme value.

Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Peoples of the Chelyabinsk Region, member of the Public Chamber of Chelyabinsk Sergey Bredikhin and chief specialist of the Department for Work with National-Cultural and Religious Associations of the City Administration Flyuza Gaysina showed the examples of effective harmonization of interethnic dialogue in such a metropolis as Chelyabinsk. "For centuries, Russia stood at the international partnership and brotherly relations between peoples. 152 nationalities reside in harmony in the Southern Urals, celebrate the same holidays and respect the culture of each other."

In conclusion, the vice-president of the "Eurasian Commonwealth" foundation Irina Okolnishnikova summed up, "In the Chelyabinsk region, we can state peace and harmony of peoples living here. Regional authorities actively support the development of national-cultural diasporas through existing centers and organizations. Much attention is paid to the preservation of national traditions. Together, we must not only preserve their cultural heritage but also interact with the representatives of other nationalities. After all, culture should become the unifying factor that will support friendly relations between peoples of the Southern Urals."

It is worth noting that the organizers of the event were the "Eurasian Commonwealth" foundation with the support of the Southern Urals Chamber of Commerce, International Cooperation Agency of the Chelyabinsk region and South Ural State University.
